When required, exhaust silencers are custom-designed to ensure the customer’s noise targets are met in terms of both near and far field levels, whilst at the same time providing maximum efficiency for the gas turbine, resulting in minimal pressure losses. The inlet and exhaust silencers can be provided as either horizontal or vertical flow types, depending on the geometry of the complete system and/or client preference.

Designs and manufactures both static and pulse-type filter houses, together with the necessary support structures. Static filter houses use disposable cartridge-type filters, and typically incorporate two levels of filtration – a stage of coarse pre-filters, for removing any larger airborne particles, followed by a stage of fine filters. The number of filters used, and hence the overall size of the filter house, is selected based upon the minimum time required between filter changes.

A diverter damper is a large modulating valve and an important component of the bypass exhaust system. Baltec IES can customise and manufacture diverter dampers to suit any size of gas turbine. Diverters utilise an automated seal air system to guarantee 100% sealing efficiency and are available with either electric or hydraulic drive, supplied with a local control panel which also provides the interface to the plant DCS for full remote operation.
